I am the founder of this practice and am a Licensed Professional Counselor.Â
I am an NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor), ASDCS (Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist).
In addition, I also have a certificate through SPADA (Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse), I am a MITS (Mentoring Institute Trained Supervisor) and provide clinical supervision to other Licensed Professional Counselors, and I have engaged in specific training related to treatment of anxiety disorders and utilizing mindfulness.
I received my Master's of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University, and my undergraduate was at Western Michigan University, where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology.
My focus and passion is centered primarily around the LGBTQIA+ community; however, I work with individuals from all walks of life regardless of whether or not they consider themselves part of this community.
While I enjoy working with those in the Kink and non-traditional relationships/ethical non-monogamy, I do not provide couple's or family therapy.Â
I only work with individual clients who are 18+ years old.
Additionally, I also provide clinical supervision services for LLPCs who are working toward obtaining their full license. If you are seeking a supervisor for your work and would like additional information, you can review my Disclosure statement here. Feel free to contact me to look into scheduling a consultation!
Personal
I have personal experience as a someone who has struggled to find my identity within the LGBTQIA+ Community. I presently identify as Asexual, Aromantic, and Agender.
I have struggled with depressive symptoms and an anxiety disorder throughout my life, and was diagnosed later in my life with ADHD and Autism.
I grew up in a Catholic household and attended a Christian college. As a result, I have understanding of Christian and Catholic theology and social norms/expectations. I studied theology in my undergraduate program with particular interest in East Asian Religions. My present belief system is Athiesm. I enjoy the study of theology, and work to better understand religious trauma, and the influence religion plays in a person's experience of cultural and societal norms.Â
I hope that my experiences aid me in better understanding my clients and allow me to be a positive asset to my clients' journeys to grow and heal.

Personal
The core of who I am as a counselor is someone that is constantly assisting others with finding their authentic truth within who they are now. My professional journey as a therapist has been informed by trauma and the cycles we find ourselves within generationally, within our lifetime, and how we see them live out in relationships. I focus on assisting with acknowledging what you have navigated on your journey thus far and how these events and experiences have shaped you into the current version of yourself. This process is client led to assist clients with a natural balance of processing that isn’t difficult to process or jolting to your nervous system. My goal is to let your body and mind help lead us on the healing journey that makes sense to you.
“There are things about ourselves that we need to get rid of; there are things we need to change... The first thing we need to do is recognize and trust our own Inner Nature, and not lose sight of it." ~The Tao of Pooh
Some of my tools in therapy are utilizing strengths based, mindfulness, somatic practice, integrative mental health with holistic resources, reiki, trauma informed, and energy psychology. I honor the flow of our connection between therapist and client and recognize we are constantly in flux of learning from one another. The journey we go on within our session helps to illuminate paths you may have not seen before and help reinforce what your authentic flow looks like within your life now. If you choose to consider me as a therapist we will consult briefly before scheduling to consider if our connection fits for your specific journey. I look forward to connecting with you and discovering how I can assist within my knowledge and background to help you see yourself more authentically.Â

"Through my experience as a therapist, I have learned that asking stimulating questions in a trusting, safe, non-judgmental space empowers people to process past experiences and understand how their history impacts them today. Over the years I have found there is no “one way” approach to therapy. My approach to therapy is eclectic, supportive and collaborative. My philosophical belief is that therapy is a place where you can reflect on how to best navigate your life.
I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2017 with a Masters degree in Professional Counseling after being honorably discharged from the United States Air Force. My experience in crisis work, courts systems, ABA and substance use has allowed me to work with clients on a variety of issues. I focus on anxiety, depression, crisis, interpersonal challenges, family conflict, stress, postpartum and much more. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques including CBT, solution focused therapy, rational emotive therapy, gestalt and mindfulness practice.
I accept clients ages 14 and over. I am also committed to acknowledging the experiences and needs of those who identify across all ethnic, gender/sexuality, and religious spectrums."

Hello there!
My name is Eric and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. To provide a bit of background, I have been working as a counselor since 2011 following graduating with my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I began working in the field as a therapist on an inpatient psychiatric unit leading groups and providing individual counseling for several years. I then transitioned to providing telephonic support and crisis interventions for people in need, which I did for 6 years. After this I worked with online mental health service providers to work more closely one-on-one with individuals through telehealth. Through these experiences I have worked with a wide array of individuals from all walks of life to help them to better understand and cope with various mental health concerns, different diagnosis, and life stress that can sometimes hit us from any number of different directions all at once!Â
In therapy my primary style is implementing a person-centered approach to meet you where you are at in this moment, discussing and getting an understanding of the current situation that you are experiencing and how things have been impacting you, and then working together to come up with a "game plan" moving forward. In terms of counseling approach I often utilize pieces and ideas from Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems Theory, as well as elements from Positive Psychology. By working together to set realistic goals and start the process of building up coping skills and strategies moving forward, my hope is that we can walk side-by-side into what hopefully can be a better and healthier future for you.
Contact Eric to set up a consultation and see if it would be a good therapeutic fit!
Personal
When I set out to study mental health and eventually started working in counseling, one thing that I always had in the back of my mind is how important it is to be seen and be heard. All too often in life we can feel unseen, unheard, discounted and displaced. Sometimes we need someone to be able to sit with us, to hear our stories, to sort through the best and worst pieces, and to be able to come up with a "game plan" or different options or tools to make changes moving forward. And this is exactly where counseling can come into play! Being able to have a safe environment where we can be seen, feel heard, and to work on building up skills and tools to better manage any number of different stressors and situations that life might throw our way at any point in time.Â

Life is always changing. I assist my clients in becoming their authentic self while they are moving through their transitions. I believe therapy is a tool to guide individuals in developing a greater understanding and acceptance of themselves. Sometimes, there is a tendency to get stuck with perspectives that don’t serve us well. When this occurs, I help my clients to explore fresh perspectives that improve the quality of their lives. As trust develops, clients may be willing to talk about fears, shame and other difficult emotions. When clients become vulnerable, there is paradoxical sense of courage and a feeling of strength that emerges. I have personally experienced Neurodivergence in myself and my family. The more I do this work, I realize I have undiagnosed Inattentive Attention Deficit Disorder and along with that, I have had to learn to cope with high anxiety. Having both professional and personal experience with the complexities of these issues, assists me in understanding and having empathy for the pain that comes with these challenges, as well as understanding what coping strategies are helpful.
The activities that help ground me in my life journey are yoga and mindfulness, outdoor nature walks, campfires, music, gardening, kayaking, cross country skiing, reading and cooking.

Hello! My name is Arielle (she/her) and I am a licensed master social worker. I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with my Master's in social work in 2018, and moved to Michigan in early 2023.Â
I’ve been fortunate to have varied experiences throughout my career and have enjoyed working in day program settings with developmentally and physically disabled adults, at a high school with teens, in a daycare with young children and toddlers, at an agency in an IOP/PHP program, and most recently at a mental health crisis center in the most densely populated county in New Jersey.
At the moment, I accept clients who are 18 and older. I understand that finding a therapist can feel like a full time job, and “shopping around” can be exhausting - mentally, physically and financially.
I adapt my clinical approach for each client I see. There are numerous therapy lenses and styles that work for many different people, but the true vehicle of therapy is a feeling of safety and a quality working relationship between client and therapist. I strive to create an environment where that relationship can grow and deepen, and in turn make the issues that bring you to my virtual space easier to process.Â
I acknowledge the power differential in the roles between therapist and client, and try my absolute best to make sure we are always on equal footing. I am not afraid to say that I don’t know something, and I enjoy learning from my clients as much as they learn from me.Â
Feel free to reach out and see if I’d be a good fit for you: arielle@sec-llc.org
Personal
As a queer therapist who has been, and continues to be, a client herself, I understand how important it is to feel seen and be heard. For therapy to truly have an impact, all pieces of you have to feel welcomed into the therapy environment. This is something I strive for my clients to feel in each and every one of my sessions. No one should have to leave parts of themselves in the waiting room. All pieces of you are valid and welcome in my therapy space.Â
I have a deep passion for helping clients work through shame, whether that's due to past trauma, current issues, or any other cause. Therapy is one of the most radical ways to choose to care for yourself, and to fight against a larger system that very often feels like it does not value individual wellness. I genuinely enjoy doing therapy because I get to encourage folks to be authentically themselves. Bearing witness to someone’s story, no matter how painful or traumatic, is the piece of being a therapist that I love the most.

When I’m not exchanging labor (that I genuinely love doing) for the means to survive, I like to work on my house, go to punk shows, go hiking and camping, crochet, and learn how to fix things (cars, plumbing, electrical, etc.). Occasionally, if I have time, I like to read, write, paint, draw, take photos, and make jewelry, mostly just for fun, creative expression, and cheap gifts for my family and friends.

"Do you ever find yourself feeling like an NPC rather than the PC or like you're a side character rather than the author of your life?
If you do, you're not alone. Many of us throughout some point in our lives find that we become "stuck" in place. My role as a professional therapist is to come alongside you and work together to help you become unstuck and move in the direction you want to go. My clinical framework is based on a Person Center Approach; you're the captain of this journey and I'm your co-pilot. The speed we go at, stops we take, and the life markers we pass are the ones that are meaningful to you rather than the paths other generic maps may encourage you to take."

Personal
If there is one thing I have learned throughout the past decade I've worked in the mental health field, it is that the human spirit is incredibly resilient. I've also found that to be true in my own personal life as I am a peer in many of the communities I work with. One of the key factors in helping someone find their own resilience is having a welcoming space where they can process their thoughts, feelings, and concerns without judgment.
The focus of my therapy style is creating an environment where my clients feel safe coming as they are. Far too often, our society sends messages to us telling us that we are not enough. The same messages trying to shame us into changing who we are. Rather than leading to any meaningful change, the shaming we experience only leads to further harm. As someone who has had those messages sent to me whether because of my sexual orientation, gender identity, neurodivergency, or other aspects of who I am that do not align with the "norms of society", I am both empathetic and passionate about collaborating with my clients to break free from any stigmas they experience.
I consider myself to be a lifelong lover of learning. I've learned the value lived experiences bring alongside evidence based practices. I've been fortunate enough to have opportunities to travel including living in several different countries. My experiences have helped me further develop my own sense of cultural humility, expand on my ability to provide culturally competent services, and collaborate through a culturally aware lens.
It is truly both an honor and privilege for me to be welcomed into the story of my clients' lives and be entrusted with coming alongside them in whatever journey they wish to take in life.

Natalie is dually licensed in Clinical and Macro Practice social work and has worked in multiple community mental health agencies, community based social service organizations, and most recently in private practice therapy. Natalie graduated from Wayne State University with their MSW in 2004.
Natalie's approach to working with people in therapy is non-binary and rooted in the belief that humans exist most authentically in a “both/and” place. While seemingly opposite, radical acceptance and working to change are equally essential to the process.Â

Personal
As a neurodivergent, gender queer, queer person on the planet, my own journey of self acceptance has been arduous at times. I often remind myself to use an experimental mindset to challenge myself to try new things and adjust what works best for me. I use the tools I teach others daily to continue my own work to radically accept myself and others.Â
I offer non-hierarchical authenticity in healing work. I believe in cultural humility as my way of being and honor individuals by building mutual trust, respect, and understanding. I will walk alongside you as you lead your journey of self-discovery and transformation. I will work with you as you process past and present trauma, while providing support, encouragement, and tools for growth and change.

Personal
I have an incredibly strong passion for helping adolescents who are struggling. I am thankful for the many opportunities I have been given to help support adolescents and help them navigate the expected and unexpected hardships of life. As someone who is in an inter-racial marriage, I am culturally sensitive to the different world experiences that my clients experience and am thankful that I am able to walk along side them and help them navigate the experiences that have shaped them.Â
I have worked with adolescents from all different backgrounds and walks of life. Each client has their own set of special experiences, hardships, and more importantly strengths. I respect the autonomy of each client and aim to help them help themselves and give them new tools to use to address their mental health concerns.Â
I really do believe that human beings are resilient and capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for. Through the process of challenging and reconstructing our thoughts, processing trauma, creating new habits, and learning boundaries, I believe we can move past barriers and live a full life.Â

COMING SOON
The Team Pets Supervisors!
As a fully telehealth mental health practice, we expect to see a few ears and tails in our sessions. We want all of our clients to feel comfortable inviting their furry friends to sessions and know that we are a pet friendly practice!
You may occasionally see some of your therapist's pets supervisors in session as well. However, please know that if this is a distraction or you do not wish for a therapist's animal to be present during session, the animal can be left out of the session.
Below are some of the supervisors you may meet depending on the therapist that you have!
