Professional Bio
Hello! My name is Arielle (she/her) and I am a licensed master social worker. I graduated from Ramapo College of New Jersey with my Master's in social work in 2018, and moved to Michigan in early 2023.
I’ve been fortunate to have varied experiences throughout my career and have enjoyed working in day program settings with developmentally and physically disabled adults, at a high school with teens, in a daycare with young children and toddlers, at an agency in an IOP/PHP program, and most recently at a mental health crisis center in the most densely populated county in New Jersey.
At the moment, I accept clients who are 18 and older. I understand that finding a therapist can feel like a full time job, and “shopping around” can be exhausting - mentally, physically and financially.
I adapt my clinical approach for each client I see. There are numerous therapy lenses and styles that work for many different people, but the true vehicle of therapy is a feeling of safety and a quality working relationship between client and therapist. I strive to create an environment where that relationship can grow and deepen, and in turn make the issues that bring you to my virtual space easier to process.
I acknowledge the power differential in the roles between therapist and client, and try my absolute best to make sure we are always on equal footing. I am not afraid to say that I don’t know something, and I enjoy learning from my clients as much as they learn from me.
Feel free to reach out and see if I’d be a good fit for you!
Personal Bio
As a queer therapist who has been, and continues to be, a client herself, I understand how important it is to feel seen and be heard. For therapy to truly have an impact, all pieces of you have to feel welcomed into the therapy environment. This is something I strive for my clients to feel in each and every one of my sessions. No one should have to leave parts of themselves in the waiting room. All pieces of you are valid and welcome in my therapy space.
I have a deep passion for helping clients work through shame, whether that's due to past trauma, current issues, or any other cause. Therapy is one of the most radical ways to choose to care for yourself, and to fight against a larger system that very often feels like it does not value individual wellness. I genuinely enjoy doing therapy because I get to encourage folks to be authentically themselves. Bearing witness to someone’s story, no matter how painful or traumatic, is the piece of being a therapist that I love the most.
