Professional Bio
I am the founder of this practice and am Licensed Professional Counselor.Â
I am an NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor), ASDCS (Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist).
In addition, I also have a certificate through SPADA (Specialty Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse), I am a MITS (Mentoring Institute Trained Supervisor) and provide clinical supervision to other Licensed Professional Counselors, and I have engaged in specific training related to treatment of anxiety disorders and trauma, utilizing mindfulness, ADHD, CBT, ACT, and am certified to provide Safe and Sound Protocol Therapy.
I received my Master's of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor University, and my undergraduate was at Western Michigan University, where I received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology.
My focus and passion is centered primarily around the LGBTQIA+ community; however, I work with individuals from all walks of life regardless of whether or not they consider themselves part of this community.
While I enjoy working with those in the Kink and non-traditional relationships/ethical non-monogamy, I do not provide couple's or family therapy.Â
I only work with individual clients who are 18+ years old.
Additionally, I also provide clinical supervision services for LLPCs who are working toward obtaining their full license. If you are seeking a supervisor for your work and would like additional information, you can review my Disclosure statement here. Feel free to contact me to look into scheduling a consultation!
Personal Bio
I have personal experience as a someone who has struggled to find my identity within the LGBTQIA+ Community. I presently identify as Asexual, Aromantic, and Agender.
I have struggled with depressive symptoms and an anxiety disorder throughout my life, and was diagnosed later in my life with ADHD and Autism.
I grew up in a Catholic household and attended a Christian college. As a result, I have understanding of Christian and Catholic theology and social norms/expectations. I studied theology in my undergraduate program with particular interest in East Asian Religions. My present belief system is Athiesm. I enjoy the study of theology, and work to better understand religious trauma, and the influence religion plays in a person's experience of cultural and societal norms.
I hope that my experiences aid me in better understanding my clients and allow me to be a positive asset to my clients' journeys to grow and heal.
